Hawkish / Dovish
Hawkish = leaning toward hikes (currency-positive). Dovish = leaning toward cuts (currency-negative).
Central bank language is parsed word by word. 'Data-dependent' is neutral. 'Elevated' or 'persistent' inflation is hawkish. 'Transitory' or 'moderating' is dovish. Currency reactions flip within seconds of a surprise word choice.
